During his ‘Life Raft Survival Challenge’, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, Wayne kept a video diary of his experiences in the life raft. Every evening at 7pm he had a video chat with Duncan, his website and social media manager. These videos were transferred over the mobile phone network, then posted to Facebook and YouTube

Wayne’s Life Raft Survival Challenge started Monday 18th May at 12 noon, during which he spent seven days and nights in a life raft in Portland Harbour tethered to a buoy, starting with food and water for just one day, and simulating having to abandon a ship or boat out at sea
In addition to rationing the water and food he had, he needed to supplement it by collecting rainwater, drinking his own urine, and catching then eating raw fish…
His health and endurance during the challenge was monitored and studied by Dr Joe Costello, from Portsmouth University’s Department of Sport and Exercise Science. To their knowledge, nothing like this has ever been attempted under these conditions
