Wayne is now an ambassador for ‘Facing the World’.
Bosnia, 2003: Wayne Ingram was serving in the British forces when he met a young boy named Stefan Savic, who was born with a severe facial cleft. With the help of his colleagues, Wayne raised an incredible £14,000 to help Stefan receive the initial treatment he needed in the UK
Since then he has stayed in touch with the family, and continued to raise in excess of £100,000 for Stefan’s ongoing treatment. We first met Wayne in 2014 when he requested our help with the logistics for Stefan’s final operations
We were proud to ask Wayne, now a serving paramedic, to become an ambassador for Facing the World as an acknowledgement of his extraordinary fundraising efforts, and his ongoing support for Stefan and his family
Facing the World supports and provides life-changing surgery to children from the developing world who are affected by severe facial disfigurements. Through our work we help to restore children’s hopes and aspirations, enabling them to lead more independent lives
